A Chance at the American Dream
Neighborhood Housing Partnership of Greater Springfield (NHP) & the Building Industry Association of Clark County (BIA) have joined together to construct eighteen homes on Clifton Court Avenue near South High School in 2007. The urban neighborhood will provide a diverse choice of homes, financing options, and will be built with environmentally friendly designs and materials to preserve water, energy, and provide amenities the market of today is looking for in a new home.

NHP will enable local families to increase homeownership levels in the neighborhood by providing state of the art housing for both marketrate and affordable housing opportunities close to the city’s core. With the help of federal dollars to subsidize the cost of the homes for income qualified home buyer. The NHP partnership offsets the risk for the builders & better prepares low to moderate income families to own homes.

The BIA’s commitment to the project helps NHP fulfill a vision of providing affordable quality housing for future generations near a major gateway to Springfield. This development will create the first new neighborhood in the city core in over 50 years. The investment in this area will sustain stable homeownership for families resulting in better educational, social, and economic outcomes for the entire community.

Why "Urban" Development is Important for Springfield.
Diverse, Safe Convenient Neighborhoods With Homes That People Can Afford.
There is universal consensus by major stakeholders of Springfield that it is critical to improve gateway neighborhoods in order to create a favorable entrance to the central city. As such, NHP has established a unique partnership with the BIA to construct a neighborhood revitalization plan to meet the growing demand for a ‘smart growth’ community: one that is centrally located to services, recreation, transportation, and a host of other amenities not easily accessible in the suburbs. Just think of the advantages for the families who live close enough to walk to the library, the YMCA, the Kuss Auditorium, their local Banks, restaurants, or the Heritage Center. This partnership engages our local builders, keeping jobs and investments in our community where it belongs.

Clifton Court Financing
Clifton Court will utilize a creative package of incentives to attract market rate buyers as well as provide affordable homeownership for families with moderate incomes. The construction and end financing is an assemblage of public and private sources including: NeighborWorks America, Local Lenders, City of Springfield, Turner Foundation, Neighborhood Housing Partnership, Private donations.
