Foreclosure Prevention Counseling

If you have fallen behind on your mortgage payments, you are not alone. NHP counselors work with homeowners in difficult situations every day. We are a HUD Certified Housing Counseling Agency with counselors who are certified in foreclosure prevention. At NHP, our counselors know that individuals facing financial difficulties experience very different situations. That's why, when you contact NHP, we will help you determine an action plan tailored to your circumstances. When you contact us, a professionally trained counselor will help you evaluate your situation. These services are free—don't be fooled by scam artists who offer a loan modification for a fee.

What to expect:

  • A counselor will collect information about your situation and discuss options with you.
  • They will communicate with your loan servicer submit a loss mitigation package.
  • Create a written action plan for foreclosure avoidance.
  • Follow up with you.
  • Provide you with contact information for additional community services that might be available.
